Jesus, His gospel and the family feast!

Each Wednesday at 1pm around the long table.

What is Meat?

How well do you know the gospel? The good news about Jesus, about God and about His kingdom, as the Bible variously calls it?

Come to Meat frequently and soon you'll be bursting at the seams with it, dancing and jumping for joy about it, telling everyone about it, unable to contain it: a fire in your bones! You'll be so enraptured with the eternal story of the Father's mercy, wisdom and mighty redemption, that every other piece of news will seem like no news at all. The Good News will be to you the only news that matters.

The first generation of God's family, the church, ate and drank the good news on a daily basis, and we're going to be doing that at Bread too!

Starting on on Wednesdays and Fridays, we'll be gathering around the big table at Bread, eating lunch together, telling and retelling the glorious gospel to one another by the Spirit, with Scripture, with anointed preaching and teaching, with songs, testimony, laughter, tears and the gushing forth of the Holy Spirit.

We're not gathering to share how we're doing, our highs and lows, nor to talk about world events, nor to devise strategies and plans for evangelism, nor to discuss this or that interesting teaching or prophecy, or even the great things that God is doing through this or that ministry... There is a time and place for all of these, but at Meat we have one goal: fellowship around the Lamb who has taken away our sins; to declare and rejoice in the death and resurrection of Jesus Christ; to tell the mystery hidden since time began, the unfathomable wisdom of God who alone is wise, the unsearchable riches of the goodness and mercy of God!

We will rejoice and rejoice and again we will rejoice!
Oh, give thanks to the Lord, for He is good!
For His mercy endures forever.
Let the redeemed of the Lord say so, Whom He has redeemed from the hand of the enemy. Psalm 107:1-2

Let those who cannot afford to buy lunch for themselves at Bread come (without money)! You will be providing the opportunity to those who can afford to buy someone else lunch: the opportunity to walk in Father's righteousness. Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all, especially to those who are of the household of faith.
Galatians 6:10

So continuing daily with one accord in the temple, and breaking bread from house to house, they ate their food with gladness and simplicity of heart, praising God and having favour with all the people. And the Lord added to the church daily those who were being saved.
Acts 2:46-47
