honey

Living in the sweetness of Jesus.

What is honey?

Extravagant worship and praise on a Thursday evening at Bread.

Indulging Jesus and being indulged.

The Bible is filled with metaphor concerning the sweetness and ecstasies of union with our loving Father, our Bridegroom King Jesus and the majestic Holy Spirit. Honey is one such picture and taste of the glory of divine intimacy:

“I have come to my garden, my sister, my bride; I have gathered my myrrh with my spice; I have eaten my honeycomb with my honey." (Song of Solomon 5:1)

And He said to me, “Son of man, feed your belly, and fill your stomach with this scroll that I give you.” So I ate, and it was in my mouth like honey in sweetness. (Ezek 3:3)

“I will give it to you as an inheritance, a land flowing with milk and honey." (Lev 20:24)

Remember, we are called as lovers, not employees. And lovers get more done than workers. So Thursday evening is wholly dedicated to going deep into the presence of the Lord, to indulge Him, to minister to Him, to be indulged by Him, to enjoy Him, be loved and endlessly filled by Him.
