Support our new
building mission today!
We praise God for an incredible first two and a half years of being open as “Bread cafe and community” in Yeovil. We thank God for all our customers, tireless supporters, encouragers and our amazing team and Bread family.
Friends, the plight of the disenfranchised market town high street is very serious. Our Vision was and is to be “Jesus in the high street” - in the words of CT Studd to “run a rescue shop within a yard of hell.” Bread is a cafe, a community space unapologetically gospel-centred, and we have seen over 250 recorded testimonies of all the ways the Lord Jesus has touched, saved, healed and delivered precious people. This is just what we know - the tip of the iceberg,
Likewise, we have amassed some excellent reviews on Google for our cafe service, sense of community, as well as our premium, organic coffee and delicious toasties.
It is not easy to carry the gospel to the front lines, whilst operating as a viable business. Testament to the grace of God and the hard work and persevering love of our team, we have many regulars at Bread now - we have earned trust with the locals and have many friends in the local churches of all denominations, who love to gather in our space. Preciously, we have become somewhat of “a refuge”, a safe space for wandering teens, young adults, the elderly and those who want a space to be in where they are known, loved - more than just a number and a purse. Praise God.
We believe we are just at the beginning of our journey and all that God wants to do through Bread in Yeovil and beyond! The only persistent issue, truly, has been that we are not financially sustainable in our current building, with the rent we are required to pay monthly.
In order to carry on beyond September, this has to change. Amazingly, we believe providentially, we have a found a new building, only 40 meters down the same road. This corner shop (pictured) is in a better location, has better light, far superior, sun-drenched, outside space for many more people, and is only a step out onto Yeovil’s new amphitheatre. We see this as a beautiful, long-term upgrade to fulfil the Bread vision, at just over half the price of our current set up! The landlord has accepted our offer but we now need to raise the funds to fit the space out.
We are looking to raise approximately £20,000 for the fit out of the new venue. Please pray and consider partnering with us in giving towards this goal, so that God, through our little team, can continue to bathe Yeovil in the salt, light, kingdom presence and doorway, which is Bread cafe.
With great thanks - all for His Kingdom.

Quickly, get out into the city streets and alleys. Collect all who look like they need a square meal, all the misfits and homeless and down-and-out you can lay your hands on, and bring them here.’
Jesus, Luke 14 (MSG)
“The vision is Jesus, the Bread of Life, in the high street(s).
Our heart is to bring life, love, creativity, true identity and fresh hope to broken people and ruined cities.”
